Hunar Haat also provide market-opportunity:Naqvi
The Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Sunday said here that “Hunar Haat”, being organised by Ministry of Minority Affairs has proved to be an effective campaign to promote master artisans from across the country and provide market-opportunity to them.Talking to media persons here, Shri Naqvi said that the second “Hunar Haat”, organised at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place, New Delhi from 11 to 26th February, not only provided a market and opportunity to master artisans, craftsmen and “Bawarchis”, it also gave a strong message of social harmony.
The “Hunar Haat” was a hit among the people as more than 26 lakh people, both domestic and foreign visitors, visited this “Hunar Haat”. The people not only made a purchase of lakhs of rupees from these artisans they also got orders from other countries.
With the theme “Craft Aur Cuisine Ka Sangam”, the second “Hunar Haat” was unique in the sense that it showcased crafts and traditional cuisines brought from different parts of the country at “Bawarchikhana”. Besides handicrafts and various dishes, the people also enjoyed various cultural programmes, Qawwali, Gazal, “Bhajan”, puppet dance, bioscope.
The artisans especially at food stalls, not only maintained high standard of personal hygiene, they also strengthened “Swacch Bharat Mission” by keeping their surrounding clean. The people visiting “Hunar Haat” appreciated this step of the artisans.
