The future of Iran and India are golden

Both conutry going in right direction: Vice President

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari has said that in the world of tomorrow, they (Iran and India) would need to use the tools of modernity – economic, technological and political – creatively and they have a largely converging interest in an area of stability and prosperity. He was addressing after inaugurating a seminar on ‘The cultural similarities between Iran and the Indian sub-continent: Indigenous Cultural Fragmentation in the Era of Globalization’, here today. The Ambassador of Iran to India, Mr. Gholam Raza Ansari, the President of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Prof. Lokesh Chandra and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
In the case of India, the process of movement of people and ideas was succinctly summed up by the poet Raghupati Rai Firaq:

Sar zamin-e- Hind par aqwam-e-alam ke Firaq
Karwaan aate gaye Hindostan banta gaya.
“It would be fair to conclude that both Iran and India have responded, in their own way, to the challenges of modernity. What shape would their linguistic and cultural connections take in our globalizing world? At a first glance, the Indian approach has been one of seamless accommodation while the Iranian is premised on categorized acceptance. Both face today the onslaught of information and ideas in all their diversity and technological prowess.” says Mr. Hamid.
He said’”in the world of tomorrow, they would need to use the tools of modernity – economic, technological and political - creatively. They have a largely converging interest in an area of stability and prosperity.I do hope the participants in this seminar will shed light on these enticing themes”.
